LA Trip
Made a quick trip to LA this weekend to shoot a Short Film/Spec Ad for Nike Mixed Martial Arts with up and coming filmmaker Bret Zausmer. It was a blast! Once again, I think I was the old man on set, trying to keep up with the young fighters, but I didn't get beat up too badly. :) Bret and his crew were very professional, and the other actors and fighters were a pleasure to work with.
On the plane ride home, I was reflecting on how my body felt (a few aches and pains). But, after two days of doing some activities that I haven't done much in the past few years- kicking, jujitsu, judo throws, etc- I realized I feel pretty good. It reinforced my opinion that the "total body" workouts and the cross-training fitness that I have evolved myself into are really good for me. Not only did I feel pretty good doing the unexpected, but I wasn't afraid to take my shirt off on camera when asked to... Haha I'm certainly not winning any bodybuilding contests anytime soon (not even in the 35 and over classes!), but I feel good and look ok, and will continue to prepare for the unknown!
